Description of Issue
In rare cases we have seen unexpected carvings where the depth becomes shallower as the bit moves from right to left (as seen facing the machine) doing a raster pattern.
Possible Causes
Causes include a loose bit, a board that varies in thickness from side to side, a cupped board or a machine with an unlevel head.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check that the bit is not loose in the holder.
- Verify that the board is not thicker on one side.
- Check the board for major cupping on both the top and bottom surfaces. A cupped board can result in depth variations in the side-to-side direction.
- If none of the above steps solves the issue consult with CarveWright Service.
